Level B1 (PET)

This exam belongs to the level B1 from the (CEFR) and in this level the student should master the basic verbal tenses, as well as be able to keep and understand a conversation about common aspects of the daily life. To do this, we will work with past Cambridge mock exams, so the student will always be in touch with real tests in order to know the structure and the kind of exercises apearing in the exam. Thus, we will help you to develop your linguistic skills.

    Parts of the exam
    The PET exam is divided into 3 sections: Reading and Writing, Listening y Speaking.

    Reading and Writing

    This section lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, bears 50% of the final mark and it is divided into 8 parts (each part belongs to one activity):

    • Part 1: Choose the best option about the given texts.
    • Part 2: Match each description with the given texts.
    • Part 3: True or False questions about the text given.
    • Part 4: Answer the questions about the text given.
    • Part 5: Complete the text with the options given.
    • Part 6: Sentence rewriting.
    • Part 7: Write a short communicative message.
    • Part 8: Write a letter or a short story.

    Listening

    This sections lasts 36 minutes aproximately, bears 25% of the final mark and it is divided into 4 parts (each part belongs to one activity):

    • Part 1: Match the image with what you hear.
    • Part 2: Choose the best answer according to what you hear.
    • Part 3: Fill in the gaps according to what you hear.
    • Part 4: True or False questions according to what you hear.

    Speaking

    This section lasts 10 minutes per candidate, bears 25% of the final marsk and it is divided into 4 parts (each part belongs to one activity):

    • Part 1: Conversation with the examiner about personal aspects.
    • Part 2: Conversation with your partner about the visual material.
    • Part 3: Description and analysis of the visual material.
    • Part 4: Conversation with your partner about the visual material given in Part 3.
